Studies on the development of a padi stripper
attachment, 1977-1978 investigations

ABSTRACT
The development strategy to be followed in the
development of the stripper harvesting attachment was
outlined. A description of the experimental harvester machine
was presented. Series of tests were carried out to evaluate
the performance of the machine. Several modifications were
carried out based on the results of each test series.
Observations and deductions derived from the tests were
discussed. It was found that the rotor speed and the moisture
content of the grains were major factors governing the
shattering losses of grains. The orientation of the wire
loops at the moment of impact was found to determine the
trajectories of the grains after impact.
ABSTRAK
Rancangan untuk memajukan lagi mesin "stripper harvesting
attachment" telah dikemukakan. Bentuk mesin percubaan yang
telah dibuat dihuraikan. Beberapa kajian dijalankan ke atas
mesin ini dan diubahsuai mengikut hasil dari kajian-kajian
yang telah dijalankan. Pandangan dan keputusan yang didapati
dari kajian-kajian itu juga dibincangkan. Didapati bahawa
darjah kelembapan padi dan kelajuan putaran alat penuaian
adalah faktor-faktor penting yang menguasai kehilangan padi
semasa menuai. Orientasi pukulan dawai bulatan ke atas
tangkai-tangkai padi didapati telah menentukan arah-arah
penerbangan biji-biji padi selepas dipukul.
