Comparative trafficability tests on three
available soft soil transporters on peat soil

ABSTRACT
Comparative trafficability tests were carried out on the
available unit of Shibaura SBK1100, Chikusui GC602 and
Shiroishi P6-121 on peat soil. The machines were subjected
repetitive-pass tests, straight line speed tests, obstacle
tests, turning circle tests, and centre of gravity tests.
Some of the tests were conducted on cement, tarmac and
laterite roads to complement those conducted on peat soil.
The physical specifications of the machines were checked.
From the tests conducted, it was found that P6-121 gave the
best overall performance on peat, with the SBK1100 not far
behind.

Ujian-ujian untuk membandingkan "trafficability"
(pergerakan) mesin-mesin pengangkutan Shibaura SBK1100,
Chikusui Gc602 dan Shiroishi P6-121 atas gambut telah
dijalankan. Ujian-ujian tersebut termasuk ujian lalu berkali-
kali, ujian kelajuan garisan lurus, ujian rintangan, ujian
pusing dan ujian "centre of gravity". Kajian tambahan
dijalankan di atas lantai simen, jalan bertar dan jalan tanah
merah. Ukuran fisikal mesin-mesin jugan diambil. Dari ujian-
ujian yang dijalankan, didapati "trafficability" P6-121 yang
terbaik atas tanah gambut.
