Photo courtesy of Cyntillia Eison. “The most recent and significant event that took place during the just ending month of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, was the Annual Fast-a-thon that took place on Thursday, Oct. 19 in Krasa A, B and C,” said Naseer. “Over 450 students and faculty from the BU community signed up to participate in the event that called for all pledger’s to fast, or abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. Almost $2,000 was raised with the help of people and businesses from the local area who donated money for each person who pledged to fast.” Muslim students will be celebrating the Islamic holiday of Eid, the day of festivities following the end of Ramadan. The MSA plans on holding an Eid dinner in the next few weeks to commemorate the day of celebration.
