Neri Villanueva

O:
who recruited you to join the club?

N:  leo pumanes recruited me to kameradare after i took the basic photography seminar he conducted at philcite.

O:  what was your most unforgettable experience with kameradare?

N:  both unforgettable & embarrassing!  we were asked to submit our photographs & then draw lots as to who gets whose photos.  i misunderstood the instruction & submitted a photograph of myself.  romy magud got my portrait & everytime i see him, i am reminded of that incident.  diyahe talaga!

O:  as a matter of fact, there's a story of that "sidelights" which kitty documented.  do you still try to keep up with the latest topics in photography?

N:  the art of photography has grown by leaps & bounds. it is hard to keep up with it.  today, the emphasis is on the technical aspect & there is no limit to what you can do to a photograph provided you have the equipment & the imagination.  it is very different to my concept where the beauty of the photograph depends on the person behind the camera.

O:  name one member that you believe has influenced you the most in photography & why?

N:  no one person influenced me the most but every member has been instrumental in furthering my knowledge in photography, their mistakes & kudos both.

O:  what has been your motto in life?

N:  enjoy what we can & endure what we must - goethe

O:  can you give us 1 photo tip?

N:  be aware of light.  look at the shadows it produces, the quality of softness or hardness & then decide just what it is you want.
