What's
-
Registation (dinner) closed, new (last?) newsletter, 3 new donors, updated contact (1), updated 'What can I do?' section
One week to go!
Yeah, it's next Friday.
Registration is pretty much closed, at least for the Saturday night dinner.
New World needed a hard count for people this past week.
There may be some wiggle room for a couple folks, no
promises...first come first serve, so let us know ASAP.
Of course, you (and friends/family) can still come to the Friday night
and Saturday picnic gigs....they're open even if you don't register.
Still would like to hear from you, though, so please go ahead and
register.
Here's the link to the registration info and the online form:

What's the scoop?
The reunion will be
Friday and Saturday, July 30 & 31, 2004.
Here's the details:
-
Friday night informal.
A come and go as you please gathering, no commitment and no cover/up front cost
required from classmates.
Catamount Cafe,
the former Mt. Tremper Lodge, is located just past Onteora on Rte. 28 (next to the Kaleidoscope).
We'll be set up outdoors in the gazebos with a cash bar, light menu for chow, etc.
The gazebos hold 100 people comfortably, so we should be set even if it rains.
Place may be different than Friday informals of the past, but don't worry...
doesn't cost more, and the intent and spirit of Friday is still the same.
-
A Saturday day gathering for classmates and their families.
A noon-ish picnic/potluck/cookout, bring your own and possibly share.
We searched for a nice park in the area with stuff to do for kids, a pavilion should it (shudder) rain, etc.
Still working out the details, but we are set on the location: Davis Park in West Shokan.
It's been recently renovated,
and even has a pool we'll
be permitted to use for a very small per person fee.
-
Saturday night dinner party at
New World Home Cooking
.
Formerly Carambola and the Getaway Country Inn, located on Route 212, Saugerties, just outside of Woodstock.
A more casual, eclectic atmosphere compared to Saturday night events of the past.
Check out the website to get the low down on the place.

on Friday or Saturday night.

Well, we're out of time for most everything, but there's still opportunities:
- Show up Well, duh. But really, even if you haven't registered yet, and don't want
to do the dinner, come at least to the Friday and/or Saturday picnic.
Don't be shy...we're all fat and bald, and are beyond trying to impress anyone,
so what the hell.
- Volunteer
We've got it pretty much under control, but there is some help we could use,
particularly for the picnic - getting coolers and ice to the park,
picking up stuff from the Boiceville Supermarket, etc.
Apply within...we won't even background check ya.
- Send in some pictures - old or new
We were wanting to show some at the reunion or put them on the web site.
So far response has been, well, pick your 70's term - weak, lame, played..you name it.
Still not too late, but time is short.
- Don't be a slob
Part of the terms of getting the park for the picnic was to
leave it squeaky clean...right down to the cig butts...or they'd
slap us with a $200 fee.
So please...clean up afterwards, and help us check it over
when we're done.
Janet Short-Barringer has volunteered to help me look
things over at the end...my thanks to her, come join us.
- Update your contact info
on our
list
by filling out the form
here.
Again, a little late in the game, but you can do it anyway.
Cheryl has pretty much got the program (w/ contacts) printed,
if you've got an add/change maybe we can write it in with crayon.
- Contact a 'missing' classmate
We've got 82 classmates, or about 30%, with no contact info at all.
We'd like to at least give everyone the opportunity to come,
and we need your help.
Never too late, scare 'em up and get 'em out with us.
- Send in a few bucks
Always welcome.
Things look decent for this reunion, but...if we live through this one..
don't know what we'll have left to kick start the next one.
Send to Onteora Reunion 79 c/o Anita Soovajian Reynolds:
