Ontario Children In Care is a web site designed for the purpose of educating the public about how to protect their rights and those of their children, and to shed some light on the issues that children in care, and their families, face. It is also intended to dispel some of the myths associated with child protection. For example, that all apprehensions by the CAS are meritorious, that the legal professionals involved always promote the best interests of the child, and to demystify the subsequent stigma attached to these families. Vision StatementThe OCIC is committed to the compilation and distribution of information pertaining to laws, statutes and legislation, in an attempt to transfer a working understanding to the betterment of families or individuals. Knowledge is empowerment and translates into action. It is only through active participation that Ontarians can hope to affect legislative change. |
