Escapades 5....
November 9,2003
Last night Abbott was full it. I was laying in the floor on my side watching tv. I had my arm resting across my hip. Vic thought it would be funny to lay down behind me and zerbert my arm. (Blow on my arm). Abbott and Cosie were playing around me as usual. When Vic blew on my arm, the noise startled Abbott and Cosie. They both stopped and stared at Vic. He decided to do it again, and this time Abbott pounced his head and barked! We got tickled at him, and Vic tried it again. Abbott went bullistic! He jumped all over Vic's head, scrambled under his arm, and bit him on the chin! (When Abbott plays, he never hurts when he bites, for future reference.)
Every time Vic blew on my arm, Abbott was all over him. We were laughing so hard, Vic got to the point he couldn't blow. When he would try, Abbott would get ready to pounce, and Vic would laugh instead of blow. We laughed at the little stink till we cried.
Costello has picked up on Abbott's little habit of curling up in my lap when I am putting on make-up. This morning, as usual, Abbott crawled onto my lap, curled up and waited for his back to be scratched. When he decided it was enough, he got up and left to find his pillow. In a few minutes, without warning, Cosie hopped onto my lap, curled into a ball, and became motionless. The only thing he moved was his eye, which he cut around to look at me.
I was working in the kitchen, and suddenly I couldn't find Cosie. He is always within three to four feet away from me, no matter where I go. I looked around, to see if he might have moved around the corner of the cabinet, but I did not see him. I called his name as I started to walk toward the living room. I glanced down into Abbott's pet taxi as I passed it, and there he was. He had gotten bored with me, and decided to rest in the pet taxi.
I believe I have mentioned before that Abbott likes to play in Costello's pet taxi. It has been on the front porch lately, because they like to run in and out, so they have one inside and one outside. The door of course won't latch unless you turn the knob, but it will swing open and closed. Abbott has discovered how to open the door, by hooking his paw in the door and pulling it open. But this is the kicker. He also turns around in the taxi, and bumps the hinge side of the door with his nose to make it swing shut. Then he happily begins digging his way to China!
Costello still tries to turn the training pad into a
port-a-potty. No matter how many times I tell him no, he still insists on dragging it through the house. Unless he's caught first. I put down a new one while I was in the laundry room. He promptly made a bee line for it, but it rattled and he got caught. I shook my finger at him and said a firm no. I left the laundry room to go to our bathroom for another run of clothes. He followed into the kitchen, and waited as I went through the living room. While I was getting the clothes out of the hamper, Vic came to the door and said "Mommy!" I looked up and there he stood with Cosie on his arm, trying to look innocent, and Vic handed me the pad. The little sneak waited until my back was turned, but was foiled again.
