Abbott & Costello
Escapades 4......

This deal with Costello and his feet finally got out of hand. He is getting more vicious, so much so I thought he might chew his one of his little hind feet off. So, I called the vet, and made appointments to get both Abbott and Cosie updated on all shots, have Cosie's little feet looked at, and Abbott's little knots that showed up on his back. I was concerned they might be from mosquito bites. Sooooo....as Abbott tries to shread everyone in sight everytime he gets his shots, the vet gave me a little pill to calm him down. When I talked to them to make the appointment, I was told to give him half of the pill. But when Vic picked it up the day before, they decided it might be best to give him the whole pill. Huhhh, Vic told me when we were half way there.....to give him the whole thing. Guess what? Abbott was a little goopy, but not nearly enough. He bit the vet, tried to bite Vic, and generally had a goopy vicious fit! He has a skin condition that we will have to work on from now on, and use a special shampoo. The little knots, he was given antibiotics for.The vet couldn't find anything wrong with Cosie's feet, so we are trying to find out if it might be a food allergy. This is getting intresting, as he is so picky about his food. And he usually does this about evening feed time, until time to go to bed. It's really weird. I guess we'll just have to do the trial and error thing.
Costello loves laundry baskets. Especially when they have clean clothes in them. He jumps into the basket and rolls around, snorting and acting like a nut. And when I am trying to pick out socks in my sock drawer, he tries to help me, by pulling out all my socks and shaking the heck out of them. This is highly entertaining, at least for him. I have to chase him down to get them back. Well, I guess I'm entertained, too. I can't help but laugh at him.
I guess you noticed the Fall Pic Page. I had some trouble getting those pics. Abbott decided he just had to scratch. Everytime I would get him to look at the camera, I'd snap the button, and............he moved. All I would get would be his back, or behind, and his head would be gone. I took many pics trying to get him to cooperate, but there was this itch! And Costello......he ate my leaves. Or made a good effort to try. Then he would get up, move a few inches to the side, and flop. Backwards. Oh well, maybe another day.
It started with Abbott. Before we got Cosie, Abbott would stay in the bathroom with me while I got ready for work. He, like Cosie, was always interested in my make-up bag. He had this thing for my mascara. He tried to steal it constantly. So when I had to replace it, instead of throwing the tube away, I washed it to remove any dried mascara, and gave it to Abbott. Thrilled him to death. He would throw it in the air and chase it across the floor. And when I finished getting ready, I would put it up to use for a distraction the next day.

More?...Escapades 5.....
Have you ever tried to put on eye shadow with a little peke bouncing in and out of your lap? Have you ever tried to put on eyeliner with a 16 lb. peke in your lap scratching? Or biting at your hand to let you know that you're supposed to be scratching his back instead of getting ready for work? Can you just picture it? I think I'll let your imagination run wild on this one. But I will say this, I think I had eyeshadow and eyeliner in places I don't believe it should be.
To expand a little.......Abbott loves to have his back scratched. Whenever you sit down, if he decides he needs a good back scratching, you end up with a little black peke in your lap. If you fail to immediately begin scratching, then he will nibble on your hand until you get the message. Then if you begin scratching and stop for a second, he will bite you again. He doesn't hurt you, he just nibbles. If you are too slow getting the message, he will add a little grunt to the nibbling. To be truthful, I have never not minded, so I don't really know what he'd do if you continued to ignore him.
Zach was helping put away the clean dishes, and had a stack of plastic cups in his hand. He had them stacked about two feet high. He came into the living room to ask me a question and Abbott was getting his back scratched. Abbott looked up at Zach, and got bent all out of shape. I'll admit, due to being tired I was a little slow. Abbott knew those cups were not supposed to be in Zach's hand, and he told him about it. Loudly. I explained to Zach he needed to put down the cups, due to Abbott's obvious distress of cups in the wrong place.
