REVELATION  FROM  THE HOLY  BIBLE

 

 

From its early beginnings the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ has been a mighty fortress of belief in the One True God.  In trying to understand the Christian concept of God the Holy Bible is the only solution.  From its pages we have the self revelation of the One True God.  A strong conviction in the Bible as the infallible word of God has compelled the Church to state that there is only One True God, one supreme Person who alone can be worshipped.  In the light of divine revelation and biblical research we are fully convinced that the view of Christian Monotheism is correct and in harmony with the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible.

 

Old Testament Revelation

 

I.   "And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God, . . . You shall have no other gods before Me." (Ex. 20:1-3)

 

2.  "To you it was shown, that you might know that the LORD Himself is God; there is none other beside Him." (Deut. 4:35)

 

3.  "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, The LORD is One." (Deut. 6:4)

 

4.  "Now see that I, even I, am He, and there is no God besides Me." (Deut. 32:39)

 

5.  "Therefore You are great, O LORD God.  For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears." (2 Sam. 7:22; I Chr. 17:20)

 

6.  "That all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and there is no other." (I Kgs. 8:60)

 

7.  "For You are great, and do wondrous things: You alone are God." (Psm. 86:10)

 

8.  ". . . that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He.  Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me." (Isa. 43: 10)

 

9.  "Thus said the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the LORD of hosts: I am the First, and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. . . . Is there a God besides Me?  Indeed, there is no other Rock; I know not one." (Isa. 44:6,8; 45:5,18)

 

10. "Then you shall know that I am in the midst of lsrael, and that I am the LORD your God and there is no other.  My people shall never be put to shame." (Joel 2:27)

 

 

New Testament Revelation

 

1.  "Jesus answered him; 'The first of all the commandments is' Hear, O Israel, The LORD our God, the LORD is one." (Mk. 12:29)

 

2.  "So the scribe said unto Him, 'Well said, Teacher, You have spoken the truth, for there is one God; and there is no other but He." (Mk. 12:32)

 

3.  "Since there is one God . . ." (Rom. 3:30)

 

4.  ". . . and that there is no other God but one." (1 Cor. 8:4)

 

5.  "Now a mediator does not a mediator for one only, but God is one.” (Gal. 3:20)

 

6.  "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."       (Eph. 4:6)

 

7.  "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." (1 Tim. 2:5)

 

8.  "You believe that there is one God.  You do well. . . ." (Jas. 2:19)

 

9.  "But ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all things." (1 Jn. 2:20)

 

10. "Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the throne." (Rev. 4:2)

 

The Holy Bible consisting of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired words of God (2 Tim. 3:16).  It is an accepted rule that "by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established." (2 Cor. 13:1)  There are ten scriptural witnesses in each of the Testaments, including one from our Lord Jesus Christ Himself that testifies there is Only One True God. Thus, upon the authority of the unchangeable Word of God, we stand firm on our belief in the One True God who has challenged the world by asking, 'is there a God besides Me? Indeed, there is no other Rock; I know not one." (Isa, 44:8) The One True God whom we worship has never and will never be more than one God.
