Below are two of my more creative candles. The Ladybug/pinecone one has a story with it. The base is scented with apple pie spice, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. thus creating my own "Home made scent" direct from my kitchen. Thinking I could turn a wax soaked wax coated pine cone into a candle I found that wasn't possible (trial & error) so with some inginuity I ended up with the ladybug covering where my pine cone wanted to be a torch. I put a wick on either end, now it works great
As I mentioned I do a variety of different crafts. These are hubby's favorites. They hang rite over his desk. The next one will have snow skies on it. These are plastic canvas crafts. This is the one craft that with a basic pattern an imagination can go for hours. I made a 3 tier wedding cake with plastic canvas, making even the cake top myself as well. I never got a picture of the first and only one I did but will be doing one in a couple months so hopefully  I will have one to put on here.
On one of our work locations I came across these house shingles, yes they are slate. Salvaging as many as I could load into a small box ,I loaded up not knowing what I would do with them. I saw a part of old history needing to be saved. I had some rose transfers left over from another project so thus the imagination kicked in and the Welcome one became my first decorated slate. The rest just flowed from there.

To the left is one of my daughter's paintings. This was done with reg. craft paints and done freehand.
To the right is a birdhouse gord turned into a frosty snowman. We used hex screws for his buttons I knitted his scarf and the rest is painted by hand.
Birdhouse gords can be grown in the garden, but takes up to a yr of processing and drying before they can be used.
