One Tired Mamma

Sunday, June 09, 2002I tired to write an entry the other day but Dominic wasn't feeling that well and I had to tend to him. So anyways, Dominic's tooth is out of the gum now. I'm just waiting for it to be fully out. He's so funny looking with just a little bit of tooth showing. lol He bit my finger today, because lately I've been allowing him to bite on my finger so it will take most of the pain away. But what I haven't realized was the tooth was out more and he put alittle dent in my finger. I was teasing him today, because all he says is "da da" and I was telling him "nooooo, say ma ma" lol and he would just smile and say "da da" lol He is now trying to stand up on his own, well sorta. He is getting the hang of standing up on his legs. But were he enjoys his jolly jumper he thinks he should jump all the time when he stands. It's the funniest thing. Well I've been having a lot of trouble money wise lately. I just never thought it would be still cold some days in June, but today was fairly chilly and I have to have the furnace going and I know I'm getting low on oil but I mean I can't have Dominic freeze. I usually have Dominic in his bare feet or with socks but never with shoes because where he is in his jolly jumper a lot, and I heard that you should leave you kid with just socks on if you have them in a jolly jumper because it forms their feet better. That's what I heard...I didn't do no research on it or anything. Which is funny because I ususally do. My cousin is due to have her little girl in a week or so. I can't wait! Now that I moved closer I never got up to see her. I'm bad. It's just been so windy...and it's coming right off the water so it's cold. We did have a couple of nice days, so nice that I had Dominic in his first pair of shorts. Oh yes, Dominic is sitting up all by himself. It's great, I'll just put pillows around him and do my housework and he plays and drools all over the place. Tonight I was trying to feed him and he was too busy playing to bother. He is so easily to amuse. I was holding him up to my face and I was talking to him and all he was doing was looking at my lips move and he would put up his hand and squeeze my lips together. But he's getting in the habit of pulling on my necklace, he already broke it once I had to get Jamie to fix it for me. Well I better get off to bed I'm really tired and I'm going to finish watching the movie "Joan of Arc" Hugs!

Wednesday, June 19, 2002 Dominic now has another tooth coming out. The other one is not fully out. So he has two coming out at once. My cousin, Shirley, had her baby last Wednesday. And she had a little girl. She is a darlin'. She has coal black hair and a lot of it. I can't stay on long because I'm waiting for a call, but I did change the pic on the main page to a pic that I took today of him.

Wednesday, June 19, 2002 Dominic's crying is really getting to me. He is really cranky right now. He was fine when he woke up from his nap and all of a sudden he was furious with me. So I just sat him on the floor to let it out of his system. Jamie is with him now, getting him ready for bed. Should be a great challenge. lol I had a hard time with him last night he didn't want to be put in the crib so I tried to get him asleep in the bed with me first and then when he fell asleep I would put him in the crib. Wrong idea. He woke right up when I put him in the crib. He just screamed his head off. Poor fella. I wanted him just to stay in the bed, but I know that I'm getting him in the habit of wanting to sleep with me in the bed. For a couple of nights now when he wakes up in the night and doesn't want to go back to sleep I layed him in the bed with me and he would fall asleep playing with my hair, or actually pulling my hair.

Well I had a scare the other night. I had him with me on the computer and there is duct tape on a piece that was almost breaking off on the desk. So I was feeding him and searching the web and I hadn't even notice him pull a piece of tape off. And as we all know that whatever babies have in there hands, it goes straight into their mouths. So anyways, Dominic start gagging so I thought that he put his fingers down his throat which he also has a habit of doing. So I patted him on the back and said "I know those ol' bones". Then he opened his mouth and gagged again. This time Jamie saw what was making him gag he had the duct tape in his mouth. Jamie tried to put his finger in his mouth to get it out but Dominic bit his finger. So I squeezed his cheeks together and put my finger in his mouth and pulled out the duct tape. It was scary and I hope that never happens again. Well I believe Doiminic has gas so I'm going to help poor Jamie out with him. Hugs!

Sunday, June 30, 2002 Tomorrow is Canada Day. I'm going to take Dominic to the parade in the morning. I wonder how he'll like that. I took him to the graduation, because his godmother was graduating. He was so good, I really couldn't believe it. I thought he would be fussy because there was a lot of people, warm and sitting down for 2 hours is pretty boring for most babies. But Dominic played with his toys that we brought and smiled and laughed at the people behind us. He even feel asleep. I don't know how he did that. It was so loud with everyone clapping. But he didn't nap long. Anyways, that night there was a party for the grads and Jamie looked after Dominic while I got to go party for the night. Which was great because my good friend came home from Alberta, and we got to party together for the first time since High School. So I had a blast! It was a beach party and we didn't think it was going to be a good night for one because it was blowing really hard and it spoke for ran but it turned out to be a beautiful night. So everything went well...no trouble or anything like that. Well I don't really have much to talk about. My mother will be home on the 19th. Can't wait, I miss her. Well Dominic is gone to bed so I'm going to relax and watch some tv. Hugs!
