1 lb. bulk Italian sausage 1 lb. ground beef 1 (28-oz) can whole tomatoes, undrained, cut up 1 (15-oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 tsp. sugar 1 to 2 tsp. chili powder 1 - 1 1/2 tsp. cumin 1 tsp. dried oregano 1 (15-oz.) can chili beans, undrained Brown sausage and ground beef in a skillet or non-stick casserole. Drain. In a slow cooker, combine meat and remaining ingredients except beans. Cook on high setting for one hour, reduce to low; cook 2 - 3 hours to allow flavors to blend. Add beans; cook on low another 30 - 45 minutes until thoroughly heated. |
