| Pete began his ECFC career just as a number of people ended theirs. It was the last match of the Jim Seeds era at the club and Pete, a central defender, was put on in centre midfield in a game where ECFC needed to push on to win. It wasn't a sub that made much sense to a lot of people but Pete's career was up and running with a solid midfield display. After that 2-2 draw the Seeds' family left the club and the good times began for East Court. Pete had to wait almost a month to play his next game as he made his first start for the club in a nine-goal thriller at Maresfield Village III. Playing in his favoured position he was part of the defence that conceded 5 times as East Court let a 4-1 lead slip either side of half-time to crash to their first league defeat of the season. Thankfully in his final game for the club in April 2003 Pete finally got a win under his belt. A midweek trip to Plumpton Athletic III saw East Court pick up a 5-1 victory in their third game in just 6 days following Malins Cup final success over Wisdom Sports III and a 2-0 reverse at Jarvis Brook II. |
