| Centre back Nick Dawson made his debut in the club?s second match at home to Plumpton Athletic III after coming on as a substitute. He went on to make another 9 appearances (4 starts and 5 more substitute appearances) over the first two seasons before leaving the club. In the 2002/3 season Nick made two substitute appearances, both against Plumpton Athletic III, as the club romped to the division 7 title. A year later he was much more involved, making 8 appearances in total although only two of these came after Christmas and the return of our travellers. Nick was a reliable, no-nonsense defender throughout his time at the club and his commitment both in training and matches was second-to-none. He never scored for the club but was part of some impressive victories, in half the games he played in East Court managed to score at least 5 goals. His best game probably came at Lewes Bridgeview II in the Junior Charity Cup in a 3-2 victory, his least memorable was probably the 6-1 victory at East Grinstead Utd IV when he came on and didn?t get a single touch of the ball. |
