| Sunday 05 November 2006 Knaphill Village 2 East Court 6 East Court travelled to West Byfleet early on Sunday morning as they took on Knaphill Village of the Surrey and Hampshire Border League in the second round of the Surrey Sunday Lower Junior Cup. Paul Bishop and Adam Shillibeer returned to the starting eleven for Court with regular keeper Dan Lamprell moving to the right wing. After last week's disappointing performance East Court were back on form in the early stages, they were moving the ball around well and it was no surprise when the visitors finally took the lead. Centre-back Mark Champion played a free-kick into the penalty area and Ross Kelly was first to the ball to slide it past the helpless keeper. Instead of pushing on from there East Court were gradually pushed back into their own half as Knaphill tried to get back in the game. Bishop remained relatively untroubled until the home side grabbed an equaliser. Champion was penalised for handball on the edge of the area and the home side took advantage of some slack defending, the kick was taken quickly and the home side's centre forward found himself through on goal and slotted the ball home. C ourt finished the first half in the ascendancy and were rewarded with two further goals, both from top scorer Billy Denyer. The first came when Kelly shot across goal, it beat the keeper and seemed to be heading wide when Denyer came in at the far post to knock the ball home. The second started with a Champion goal kick, Kelly nodded it past the last defender and Denyer lobbed it over the oncoming keeper. The second half continued in the same vein and it was no surprise when Nizam's man of the match Denyer completed his hattrick. A Lamprell corner was cleared at the near post, Denyer was waiting 30 yards from goal and met the dropping ball on the volley. It flew over the defence and keeper into the top corner of the goal for an early contender for goal of the season. Knaphill were using the wind to their advantage as they created numerous chances with long clearances from their keeper. Bishop saved well from one and Court had Champion to thank for sliding in to block another. At the other end Carl Buckler had been running riot down the left all game and eventually his good work led to a goal. Kelly met a near post cross and slammed the ball home. Knaphill pulled a goal back from a ball over the top, with the Court defence pushing out a forward was left one on one with the keeper. Bishop should have had the ball covered but it skipped away off the surface and caught him by surprise, the ball squirmed away from him and the striker was on hand to slide it home. Straight after Carl Zimmatore was on the scoresheet to make it six. Lamprell put in a deep cross from the right wing and Zimmatore met it at the far post to head home. Moments later the final whistle went and East Court can now look forward to a trip to either Rose Hill United or South Park in the next round.
