| Saturday 25 March 2006 East Court 4 Dormansland Rockets 6 East Court can have no complaints after Dormansland Rockets picked up the victory at Imberhorne to dent the home side's promotion hopes. Throughout the game the hosts were second best to every ball but still they contributed to their own downfall by continually making elementary mistakes in defence. The tone was set in the first minute when Rockets launched a long ball that should have been dealt with not once but twice and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Despite being far from their best the home side hit back twice to take the lead through goals from Billy Denyer and Ben Sunderland. It didn't take long for the visitors to take advantage of the hosts defensive frailties and they soon equalised and then re-took the lead. The home side hit back again to level the scores at 3-3 when Adam Shillibeer swept the ball home into an empty net. The last piece of action of the half saw Dormansland score a fourth to take a half-time lead. Things went from bad to worse at the start of the second half as East Court were caught sleeping from a free-kick and Dormansland scored a fifth from an acute angle. East Court were pushing on in an attempt to get back into the game but it was Dormansland who scored next. A penalty was given for high feet in the area and keeper Dan Lamprell was sent the wrong way as the visitors took a three goal lead. With East Court pushing everyone forward Dormansland found themselves constantly outnumbering the East Court defence but were unable to increase their lead. After Richard Hayes had hit the post for the home side East Court finally pulled one back through a Lee Champion free kick but the visitors hung on comfortably for the win. The result leaves East Court three points adrift of second placed Fletching but with two games in hand. They will hope to get back to winning ways next week when they entertain Wealden III in their final home game of the season.
