Crowborough Athletic III 0 East Court 6

EAST Court made it five wins in their last five matches as they destroyed a young Crowborough side 6-0 in their last game before Christmas. East Court have scored 30 goals in those five matches and conceded only two.

Crowborough threatened early on as East Court struggled to find their rhythm and were unlucky not to take the lead from a corner that was headed narrowly over. The visitors were struggling to cope with the home team's runners and were thankful to keeper Dan Lamprell for rushing off his line and claiming the ball at the feet of an onrushing striker after the defence had been caught square. Soon after Crowborough had a goal rightly disallowed for offside and that was finally the sign for East Court to start getting on top.

It wasn't long before the visitors were in front as Ross Kelly tapped home after good work from strike partner Billy Denyer. Right winger James Salter then freed Lee Champion who fired the visitors into a two goal lead. Salter was also involved in the third goal as his quick throw-in caught the home defence by surprise and Billy Denyer rounded the keeper to make it 3-0 at half-time.

East Court had played the first half with their first choice defence of Andy Wright, Dan Medcalf, Adam Shillibeer and Nick Palmer for the first time in 6 matches but that was changed at half-time as Ben Sunderland replaced Palmer. Carl Buckler was moved to left back with Sunderland taking his place on the left wing.

The move didn't seem to affect the momentum of the match as straight away Kelly forced a good save from the home keeper. Another couple of half chances came and went before Denyer added his second of the day from Shillibeer's pass. Substitute Sunderland added a fifth with an excellent finish after Simon Nickols had played him in and Denyer rounded off the scoring after a through-ball from Shillibeer.

James Nickols replaced Kelly for his second appearance of the season and Paul Bishop came on for the tiring Salter for the last few minutes as East Court wrapped up a comprehensive victory to keep the pressure on league leaders AFC Ringmer.
