| Saturday 04 December 2004 Fairfield 0 East Court FC 3 EAST Court gained another three points in Mid Sussex Football League Division 5 with victory over Fairfield on Saturday (December 4). Despite enjoying vast amounts of possession in the early stages, East Court could not find a goal although came close through Nick Clarkson-Tooze hitting the top of the crossbar and Billy Denyer, who was brilliantly denied by the Fairfield keeper following Andrew Wright's excellent cross. However. the away side did grab the lead before the break when Martyn Bishop's long through ball found man of the match Denyer whose sublime volley nestled in the corner of the net. Paul Brice came on for Wright at half time and almost made an immediate impact but headed wide. It was soon two though when Denyer pulled the ball back for the hard-working Clarkson-Tooze, who slid the ball past the keeper. Substitute Brice then got his goal, wriggling free of the Fairfield defence before finishing via the inside of a post and Denyer was denied a second goal when his diving header was brilliantly kept out by the outstreched hand of the Fairfield keeper. Ben Sunderland, who also was thwarted by the home team shot-stopper, replaced Clarkson-Tooze while the hard-working midfield of captain Simon Nickols, Lee Champion, who was off target with a couple of efforts, and Carl Buckler ensured Fairfield had no time on the ball. The defence of player-manager Daniel Medcalf, Martyn Bishop, Adam Shillibeer and Nick Palmer, who came off for James Crittell, were relatively untroubled by the Fairfield strikeforce leaving them and keeper Paul Bishop to pick up another clean sheet.
