East Court FC 7 Fairwarp 0

FOUR goals from Paul Brice helped East Court return to the top of Mid Sussex Football League Division 5 after thrashing Fairwarp at Imberhorne School on Saturday (November 13).

The home side dominated throughout and Martyn's Bishop's run and cross allowed Billy Denyer to head East Court into the lead.

Minutes later it was 2-0 after Fairwarp failed to clear and Denyer's through ball found Brice, who made no mistake. The same two players then combined again to give East Court a three goal half-time cushion.

In the second period Adam Shillibeer grabbed his first goal for the club heading home a Denyer corner and shortly afterwards Denyer was denied when his point-blank volley was brilliantly saved.

Ben Sunderland came on for Ross Kelly and added a fifth when Denyer's good work down the right saw him beat three Fairwarp players and his cross was met by Sunderland's powerful diving header.

Brice initially missed out on his hat-trick when he fired over but the striker was not to be denied when Denyer unselfishly set up the man-of-the-match to fire home.

Captain Simon Nickols, Denyer and Sunderland all had chances to add further goals but it was Brice who scored again when substitute Lee Champion's free kick bounced in front of the keeper who could only push it to Brice and he smashed the ball into the net.
