| Saturday 24 January 2004 Ansty Sports and Social 0 East Court 4 AFTER last week's cup success, East Court returned to Mid Sussex Football League Division 6 action with a comfortable win on Saturday (January 25). On a wet pitch the away side found the early going difficult and were unable to test the Ansty keeper. James Salter pulled a hamstring and was replaced by Ben Sunderland. Mid-way through the half Martyn Bishop fed Billy Denyer with an inch perfect pass and Denyer rounded the Ansty keeper before slotting home to give East Court the lead. Chris Whiting, who was making his first start for the club, added a second when he knocked home a cross from the right. Whiting thought he had scored again but his effort was ruled out as captain Simon Nickols was adjudged to have fouled the Ansty keeper. At half-time Buckler came on for Whiting and Duncan Bewley was pushed up front alongside Sunderland. Sunderland scored East Court's third when player-manager Daniel Medcalf lifted the ball over the top of the Ansty defence and Sunderland slid the ball past the on-rushing keeper. At the other end East Court keeper Andrew Mackie kept out a close range Ansty effort with a good save. An Ansty player was then booked for dissent after complaining about a decision by the referee. Bishop headed home Denyer's corner for East Court's fourth. Mark Nolan was then replaced by Nick Dawson. Ansty almost scored a consolation at the end but Medcalf hooked the ball off the line.
