| Saturday 19 April 2003 Bolney Rovers 1 East Court 4 THREE days after securing the Mid Sussex Football League division 7 title, East Court FC were back in action and had a comfortable win over Bolney Rovers on Saturday (April 19). East Court played much better than they did against the same team at Imberhorne last week and on a good pitch produced some nice free- flowing football. The first half was goal-less but only because of the Bolney keeper. He produced fantastic saves to deny Billy Denyer, Ross Kelly, Duncan Bewley and player-manager Daniel Medcalf, who ran the full length of the field before seeing his effort brilliantly tipped round the post by the home team's shot-stopper. In the second half East Court again dominated the possession with some nice moves being orchestrated by captain Simon Nickols in midfield. East Court took a deserved lead when a throw from the left found Denyer and he beat two Bolney defenders before firing past the keeper. Denyer scored again when Martyn Bishop's through ball found East Court's top scorer and he knocked the ball over the advancing Bolney keeper and into the net. It was soon three when James Salter's cross was diverted into his own goal by a Bolney defender. The home team pulled one back after a forward eluded tackles in the East Court box before firing his shot past keeper Paul Bishop and into the far side of the net. But East Court scored straight from the restart when two Bolney defenders collided leaving Kelly free to hammer home his fifth goal in two games. A Bolney player was booked for a late challenge on Salter and another was lucky to go unpunished after taking out Bewley, forcing the East Court player to go off injured. But during those heated moments East Court kept their heads and picked up the three points.
