Cuckfield Town III 1 East Court FC 3

IN THEIR first competitive match, East Court FC fought off a spirited display from Cuckfield Town III to secure three points in this Mid Sussex League division seven clash.
East Court took the lead when good work from Billy Denyer and Simon Nickols led to Ben Sunderland being put clear and he knocked the ball past the Cuckfield keeper.

Cuckfield equalised, but the home side were reduced to ten men after a late challenge on East Court keeper Paul Bishop resulted in a Cuckfield striker, who had been booked about five minutes earlier, receiving a second yellow card.

East Court dominated the rest of the half and deservedly went in front just before half time when Andy Wright crossed and Ross Kelly headed home.

In the second half Cuckfield pressed for a equaliser but good work from the East Court defence limited the home side to a few half chances.

Just before the end East Court grabbed a third goal. Kelly scored his second of the match slotting home the rebound after his initial shot had been saved by the Cuckfield keeper.
