Hotaru is a frail girl who nearly died in an accident at her father�s workplace. Her father, Professor Tomoe sold his soul to save Hotaru�s life, proving his love for her. At the same time, however, she was possessed by Mistress 9. Though she is a very sweet girl, her alternate side, that of Mistress 9, caused her to do some very terrible things. She is also considered weird, and even scary by her peers due to her ability to heal people with a touch and due to the fact that she would loose herself temporarily to Mistress 9�s control and would hurt people. Despite all of that, Chibi Usa befriends her, and they become best friends.
