Destiny's Quary
I sit in the lonely silence
Wishing a comforting hug
Or even a gentle pat
Would be given to me.
But I'm too proud to ask,
And far to stubborn
To give into this feeling,
Though it pains me so.
Is this what destiny
Is really like for us?
Making us do what
We have no desire to do?
I run like the wind,
As though I could escape.
The air rushes past me
Like ethereal water.
I race against my future
Trying to outrun it,
But I only outrun people;
People like myself.
