10 of the Scorps went to the Footlocker Northeast Championship Race in New York.  We then headed into Times Square and enjoyed seeing the sites in NYC.  Mackey Boyle started the day off by running in the boys Freshman race - he placed 107th in 21.54; Dylan Marty ((78th; 18.09), Peter Sammis (165th; 19.36) and Mike Keane (222nd 21.52) competed in the Junior boys race; Liz Kimble (40th; 21.52) ; Rachel Shulder (89th; 24.15) and Ananda Martin-Caughey (92nd; 24.31) competed in the Junior Girls Race; Margo James (74th; 23.23) competed in the Senior Girls Race; Kyle Andrews (61st; 16.34) and Teddy Carney (175th; 17.41)competed in the Seeded Boys race.  Congrats.

The State meet was totally awesome for the Scorps.  The hard work the team put in over the course of the season really paid off.  The boys placed 3rd (after placing 9th last year) and beat Mt. Hebron (a team we did not beat this season before the state meet).  Congratulations to Kyle - the 2A State Champion.  He not only won but he had the second fastest time of the day.  Way to go.  Teddy also earned a medal by placing 11th. When all classifications were combined into one race the boys team finished 10th.   The girls bounced back from a season that was filled with injuries half way through.  They really excelled and ran a great race to finish 6th.  Liz  earned a medal by placing 10th.  Congrats to the girls for finishing the season strong - BIG SECOND HALF!!!!  "ROM" - Kyle, David Owen, David Toller, Liz, Margo, Kate.

Wow - another congratulations to the Scorps.  Both teams ran great (again) at Regionals.  Kyle Andrews won the 2A South Regional Meet leading the Scorps to a 3rd place finish.  The rest of the boys ran very well also:  Teddy 5th; David Toller 15th; Dylan 19th; Jay 20th; Majid 34th and Peter 36th.  The girls team finally went to the starting line with the true varsity line up.  They are not in their best shape but they are fairly healthy and really starting to run great as a "team".  They were lead by Liz who ran an incredible race and placed 4th.  The girls finished 3rd as a team.  The rest of the girls ran great and finished as follows:  Leah11th; Kate 21st; Rachel 24th; Dalyce 25th; Margo 29th and Ananda 31st.  Now the biggest meet of the year is next and the Scorps are READY!!!!  "ROM" - Dalyce, Leah, Rachel, Kyle, Dylan, Teddy.

Great job to the team at the Glenelg Tri Meet.  The boys beat Glenelg and Howard.  West Regional Park provided a nice course and the kids were able to run some real cross country through the woods.     Many runners who out been out with an injury were able to get back into the line up - YEAH!!!                                     "ROM" - David O., Mike Keane, Dylan, Stephanie, Kate, Leah

Once in the park, there is really only one road. Follow it to the parking lot and you will see the start on the right and finish on the The Lion's Den Invitational wasn't the best meet of the year for the boys or the girls.  There were some strong performances but in the end the "teams" did not place as well as they are capable.  Kyle (3rd) and Teddy (8th) lead the boys team while Liz (17th) lead the girls team.  The boys placed 7th out of 22 teams while the girls placed 12th out of 17 teams.  "ROM" - Majid, Matt, Mike A., Liz, Christin, Margo - Congrats!!

What a great day at Bull Run.  The conditions were perfect and the team ran very well.  The boys team was one of the surprises of the day.  They ran their hearts out and won the Boys Small School Division (26 teams competed).  We won by 2 points beating a team that beat us by 135 points at the South Carroll Invitational.  Kyle Andrews placed 2nd (with the 5th fastest time of the day among all the races) and had the fastest time of the day by a boy in the 2A classification for the state of Maryland.  Teddy earned a plaque, along with Kyle, by placing 6th.  The girls were lead by Liz Kimble who placed 17th.  The girls team placed 9th out of 24.  They also caught a 2A team that beat them at the South Carroll Invitational.  Stephanie, Kate, Margo, Jay, Mike Ponce, Peter and Christin all ran their fastest times of the year - congrats!!!  "ROM" - Mike Ponce, Jay,  David Toller, Margo, Christin, Shannon.

The Wright Relays went well for the team.  It was a unique event for cross country because it was a relay and it was co-ed.  Each team consisted of 3 girls and 3 boys.  Our 'A' team placed 6th and our 'B' teams placed 7th and 14th.  Each coach picked a "Runner of the Meet" (ROM) so we congratulate Andrew, Mackey and Dylan on the boys side and Rachel, Dalyce and Liz on the girls side.
