~ a l p h a c o w was started on 9 December 2003. It's a trigonometry and advanced math problem repository designed for Alpha or Trigonometry/Advanced Math/Precalculus divisions, teams, and individuals participating in math competitions or organizations. This one was made specifically for BRMHS Mu Alpha Theta (Alpha division).

There are a bunch of problem sets available for download on this website, grouped in three different categories:

guided practice problems/guided sets : these problem sets concentrate around one topic, such as complex numbers, sums and series, or trigonometric equations
'regular' practice problems/practice sets : these sets incorporate problems from all areas of advanced math and don't concentrate around one topic.
tournament sets/tournament: I've managed to find the complete Alpha division tests from the 2001 National MAO convention, Texas A&M tournament (1998-2002), and a couple of precalculus and advanced math tests from the 2000 John Hopkins Math Tournament.

If you want to discuss any of the problems online, you can access message boards here.

You'll need a PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, to view the PDF files and a recent version a .zip archiver/extracting utility, like Winzip, to open the zipped files. If you don't have the software, you can download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat by clicking here or the latest version of Winzip by clicking here.

If you complete any practice set and want more points for Mu (not that most of you will be needing any), you may print a set out and turn it to either Omkar or Stacy for five points per set.

Lastly, there are some formula sheets and online tutorials/practice problem links (external links) that you can view if you want to see explanations of a particular concept or see step-by-step instructions on solving a problem.
