The standard for compatibility with us is Laser Challenge produced by Jakks Pacific (formally toymax) however we do have several rules which exclude most of their new ranges;

• Vest must have front AND back sensors

• Gun must use standard infra-red signals

Currently our equipment is made up of Laser Challenge Pro gear;

• Range: 250ft

• Sensors: 3 (gun tip, front vest, backvest)

• Add-on ports: 3 (although products were only ever released for one of them)

• Tethered Gun: YES

• Special Features: the pro gear is packed with features starting with full body vibration when you get hit as well as the standard sound effects, the gun has a keypad which allows different types of game setup as well as a variety of power codes which do things like rapid fire/shields/reload/etc etc, team light indicator tells you who's on your team (flashing light or steady)

Unfortunately this gear was always very unreliable which is why it was discontinued so soon after release, we have been repairing this equipment for sometime now but it's getting harder to do and so we are moving over to the newer V2 gear;

• Range: 350ft (firestorm gun enables 1000ft range!!)

• Sensors: 2 (front vest, back vest)

• Add-on Ports: 1 (for ELS system)

• Tethered Gun: NO

• Special features: Different vest colour indicates team, blast shield button on vest, max blast button on gun, 3 different guns available with different ranges and special features, ELS system compatibility

The ELS system is possibly the greatest piece of kit ever made by Toymax, it is a small computer which you use like in real quasar to set up game rules and so on it then downloads game data onto ELS adapters (one for each player) which then plug into the users gun and vest, at the end of the match scores for teams and individuals can be shown by the ELS computer and then printed out via a normal PC printer.

We are also using the original Laser Challenge gear for our rookies, it has no special features and only 50-100 ft range but makes for good training gear
