| The Interview pt. 1 |
| Why is your debut CD named Version 1.0? Well, I first started recording on a computer with some music software, and before I knew it, I had written a few songs and decided to produce an album. There were a few songs that didn't make it onto the CD, but I believe "Walking Through Windows" and "Harmonic Motion" are some of the first songs I wrote for the project. Is this your first album? No, I had recorded stuff back in High School and in College. In High School I had actually recorded a three song demo using a home stereo and a mic. You can hear some of my older melodies on the "R.I.T.H." and "Mood Light" from Version 1.0 Where do you get ideas for songs? I play mostly instrumental music, so I get my inspirations from everyday life, dreams, and sometimes from the experiences of other people. Sometimes I'll hear or see something that will envoke a certain emotion inside me, and I'll record that emotion inside me and unleash it on a song later. Most of my songs will have a theme or an exact meaning to me, not just some mindless shredding or arppegios. Do you sing? When nobody else can hear me. I have a song called "Deadal Phantasmagoria" that will be on my next release, and everyone will get to hear me sing for the first time. I see where you played on a Joe Satriani tribute CD that was just released last Month, What's that about? Joe Satriani is one of my main influences for guitar and I'm a member at his website. A few of the guys on the site mentioned a project where we would tribute him with some of our original music. Joe's heard thousands of guitarist cover his songs in the past, so why beat a dead horse by playing him the same music he plays for us at his concerts, we did original songs. Go to www.talk2joe.com and you can order the CD there. These 17 songs will rock your CD player for hours. It's a great honor to play for Joe Satriani and to share an album with 16 other fantastic guitar players. I just can't believe some of these guys on the album hadn't been signed to a record label yet. Did Joe like the project? What did he say? Just go to www.talk2joe.com, and you can hear his comments there....... So I take it you will be releasing a second album? Yes, I finished 10 songs and halted the project for awhile. I need to flush some things out and envoke some new creative juice for my brain. I recorded some coversongs along the way, stuff like Ozzy's - No More Tears, LP - In The End, Hoobastank - The Reason I tested the new songs at some shows I played and experimented with some new equipment to get some different tones. I also recieved a new JS1000 guitar to play around with. In the last month, I have wrote about 6 new songs, so we'll see if they find a home somewhere on the next project. Do you have a release date set? No, I have no deadlines, but I do have a few tricks up me sleeve to make the next musical ride a greater experience. So catch one of my shows or get a CD while you still can. Click Here for Part II |
