The Interview pt. 2
Tricks you say...
Yeah, u know, surprises, you'll see a few months down the road.

Where do you go to record your music?

I record everything at home on my PC, I've went thru
a few hard drives and a couple of PC's so far, hehe.  And I
have all the studio time in the world.

Do you have a band?
No, I don't have a band.  When I play a show I'll use a backing
track to play with.  The music is still solid and delivers great. There
is some added pressure being the only one on stage, plus keeping
in time with the tape.  I'm tempted alot to freestyle and get deep into
my emotion.

Why don't you hire a band? Do you like playing live?
Most musicians in my local area have a gig already.  It's quite a
task to fuse together a band and ask them to play
my music only.  One day the right people will step up
to the plate and we'll jam.  I've had a few offers for other band
but nothing serious.  O' and I like to play live, even
tho I get nervous still.

You mentioned earlier that you'll being singing in the future,
how do you pick which songs have lyrics, and do your
instrumental songs have any type of lyrics that you don't sing?

I have alot of lyrics laying around in different books, and if I'm playing a piece
of music where the  lyrics fit tight then it'll be lyrical song.  Some people will
tell me they have lyrics that will fit my songs, and it's funny because I
wrote the songs as an instrumental not a lyrical song.  I think some people
are confused about an instrumental song, like I just can't write lyrics
or can't sing so I just play my guitar.

So why do you play mostly instrumental music?
1-I like the expression I put into them
2-Sometimes you can say more with just notes than you
can by singing
3-I believe the listener can take the song and make it their
personal story.
Everyone listens to instrumental music everyday, in commercials,
movies, shopping malls, jazz clubs, Kenny G, etc...hehe.  I find
it odd some people will sit and listen to a piano, saxophone, or an orchestra
and call it tasteful, classical or whatever, but if you take a guitar
and start playing, your just kinda showin-out, or messin-around. lol

Where do you want your music to be in the future?

I would love to see my music being played more commercially
on the radio.  I believe that instrumental music is a great form
of expression that is being overlooked.  Yeah this is a business, but
there are millions of people out there who want that musical adventure.
Some of my music is already being played in different countries,
either by radio or a person who has purchased a CD.  Some of my
CD's were sent to Iraq for the soldiers.  One day I may be fortunate
enough to take my music on the road...so I'll see you guys then :).
