Looking for an exciting sport
to play in the spring, many young women look to the
fastest growing sport for young women in the state
of Maryland, Lacrosse. Considered by many to be the
most popular sport in Maryland, lacrosse is a
combination of hand-eye coordination, as well as
speed-agility and strength. Combining tactics from
both basketball and soccer, the sport of lacrosse
is fast paced and exciting. Practice for lacrosse
begins March 1st, and the season runs until
mid-May. The Cougars compete in the IAAM against
schools such as Towson Catholic, Oldfields, St.
Timothy's and Glenelg Country. Coach Ray
Wojciechowski enters his fourth season as the
Cougars coach. Under his direction the team has
reached the "Final Four" three
times.
