Purchased in April 1999 from a friend of mine for $300. It only had 16k on the travelometer (odometer) and was kept in a barn, only to be riden around the yard and neighborhood every so often. I bought a battery for it before it left my friends house and then trailered it to a tire store to have a new rear tire installed. It was then trailered home where for several days you had to step around all the chrome parts laying about the living room. With chrome polish and a hand full of rags I had it cleaned up and back together in about three days. Standing back and looking at the bike I started feeling a little uneasy about what I had paid for the thing. Even though he is the one who set the price I went out and bought my friend a gas grill to ease my conscious.
After riding the back roads a few weeks getting the feel of a bike again, I noticed it had somewhat of a miss and just didn't have the power a bike of that size should have. So I took it to our local Honda expert. A retired Honda machanic who don't even opens his shop door for business until after 12 noon. What a life. Anyway, after scratching his head and calling me cuz a couple of times he told me he knew what the problem was but it would be 7 to 8 weeks before he could get to it. 7 weeks later I went back to pick up the bike. And when I left, that 750 made the kind of sound only a Honda 750 four can make. And what a sweet sound that is.
Since then I have put about 8k on it, made a trip to Clarksville Tn., a five day trip to the mountains with some other riders here in town, many ,many one day trips where I would ride 2 to 3 hundred miles and not go any where, and the most recent, a trip with two of my brother where we rode hwy 17 down the coast to Beaufort SC.
