My favourite places in Krasnoyarsk
HOME
I like to go to the hill with the chapel on it. A very beautiful view opens in front of you! You can see the whole town spread before the eyes. Especially the town is beautiful in the evening.
This is the Surikov Fine-Arts Museum. Vasili Surikov is one of the most famous painters in Russia and we are proud that he was born in Krasnoyarsk in a family of Siberian Cossacks.

Here you can see some of
Surikov's works
And this is our Pushkin Drama Theatre
A beautiful embankment along the Yenissei river. This is a favourite place for many people, old and young. Young people like to get together in the evening there, with music and cafes all around them. On weekends bicycle or running races take place there attracting a lot of fans.
This is our famous catholic cathedral. It was built in the end of the 19th century on the donation of Polish people who were exiled to Krasnoyarsk many years ago. After the revolution the cathedral was closed. It was used as a storage place and as a part of some factory. In the eighties the cathedral was open as an Organ Hall and a new organ was installed there. Now the Cathedral functions both as a Catholic center and as an Organ Hall.
