This year was a very successful year for the College Hockey team. Training started immediately one week after College reopened for 1978. We practically trained ourselves with the finer points coming from the hockey masters - Mr. Liew, Mr Martin and also from the sports Secretary Mr Oi, almost every day with one aim in mind - to retain the Selangor Schools U-18 title.

We were also given the honour of organising the Bangsar District tournament at our home ground which included the Boys U-18 and U-15, and the girls U-18 and U-15 competitions. It was organised on a carnival basis and we are glad to say that everything went on smoothly.

We once again managed to keep our flags flying high by retaining the schools U-18 title with relatively easy wins. Though the first eleven players were called for the Combined Schools U-18 State trials, the College only released three players as the tournament coincided with the Piala Perdana Menteri Competition, The three players selected were:- P/Sjn Ravi Chandran, Manivannam and Jagjit Singh.

ANNUAL GAMES UNDER - 20.

In the annual games once again we showed our superiority by winning all the games against Kilat Club. Kilat Club with the services of 5 Internationals and the rest mainly comprising of the ex-internationals and state level players had a very tough time beating us. In fact we had the lead in the early second half through a shot corner but the more experienced and talented Kilat team rallied back to win a deserving 3 - 1 victory. Results of the Annual Games played: -

RMC vs Cadet Wing

FRIENDLY GAMES

After a very successful season for the college Hockey team, the College Authorities were kind enough to organise a Southern tour of Johore and Singapore concurrently with the College Rugby team. Here again we proved too strong for our opponents by convincing victories. The Climax of this Southern tour was when we played against Raffles Institution, the Singapore Schools U-18 champions. Of course we won the match by a large margin, 5 goals to nil. We also had a friendly match with the Armed Forces Division II champions i.e. Semboyan Sungai Besi in which we won 3 - 0. The College team also took part in the inter unit six a side tournament (Sungai Besi Cantoment) held at the College grounds. Though we were placed second we can still be proud as we lost to the 1977 National and Armed Forces six-a-side champions i.e. RAMD Sungai Besi. Results of friendly games played:-

INTER COMPANY GAMES

In the inter-company competition for the Piala Commandant, H Company emerged champion.

We are proud to say that the College U-18 team did not lose a single game except once which we drew due to some unforseen circumstances. Lastly the College team would like to thank:

The Commandant, Col Murad and the Director of Studies, Encik Mohd Ali for their interest, encouragement and support.

The Deputy Commandant, Lt Col Hussein b Mohd Ali Piah and OC Boys Wing, Major Hashim, for allowing our players taking part in tournaments to be excused from Military Training on Saturdays.

All Academic and Military Staff as well as PTI's of the College, who in one way on another, helped our players during training and contributed to the successful running of the Bangsar District Competition.

And last but not least, not forgetting the invaluable time sacrificed by Mr Liew, Mr Martin and Mr Ooi in helping build such a "solid" team.
