This year can be said to be the most glorious and successful year for our College Basketball team. Our greatest triumph was winning the Piala Tan Sri Hamdan, after being runner up for the past four years.

We started the basketball season this year by participating in the International School Kuala Lumpur Friendly Invitational Basketball Tournament. We did quite well and emerged as third. This tournament had given us some valuable experience in preparing us for the U-18 MSSS tournament and the Piala Tan Sri Hamdan Tournament.

This year, the Piala Tan Sri Hamdan was held in Sekolah Menengah Sains Pulau Pinang, Bukit Mertajam. Fifteen teams took part in this tournament and it was held from the 17th July till the 21st of July.

We started our practice for this tournament quite late this year i.e. after the mid-term break. Our practices were further interrupted by the repairing of courts, mid-term examination and our annual Sports. However we managed to do very well in this tournament and emerged as the Champion. We impressed all the participating team right from our first match by beating SMSNS 100-34. They showed their colour as a strong contender with sharp shooting and fine teamwork, reported the STAR. We emerged as group champion after beating SMS Melaka and Sekolah Alam Shah and entered the second round. In the second round, we beat defending champion MCKK, previous former champion SDAR and SMS Kedah to qualify to enter the semi-final.

In the semi-final, we beat STAR easily and beat MCKK in the final to emerged as champion. We scored impressively in all the games - an average of 96 points. Another thing worth is that not a single player was sent out of court for committing five fouls.

During our stay, we had projected a very good image of the College to all the participating schools. We showed them the prowess of putera fitners, skill and sportmanship.

Finally, all the players would like to thank the officers in charge, Kept Chou and Mr Han for their perseverance and invaluable guidance. Sjn Fong Kuan Fook for his umpiring and assistance, and others who in one way or another, have helped to make this years basketball a success.
