This site is the ongoing process of restoring and (hopefully) improving an old and neglected boat while still attempting to have some fun for the whole family sailing.
This family's sailing started with a little 'Snark' sailboat and eventually ended up here with the current Venture 21. In between the two boats was a Sailing Star(similar to an O'day) 17' named "About Time".
The opening Picture on the page shows the boat at the end of her maiden sail about a week after I picked her up at the boat yard. While she doesn't look too bad at the dock in the distance, we had spent most of the week scrubbing. By the end of the first sail I could see what changes would be in store for us immediately, since much of the rigging was downright dangerous. We've unofficially named this picture "not wrapped too tight" (Alright, I'd never tried to flake a mainsail with a Bolt rope instead of slide slugs...)
