Honda QA 50
The engine with the gear shift arm removed and the first clutch plate off. The nut in the center of the clutch needs to come off first. The problem is it is stuck and the clutch rotates, kind of a three stooges moment. (07-29-07)
The poor mans method, I flipped the clutch cover over, screwed it down and then ran a screwdriver threw into the engine case. Not pretty but keeps the clutch from rotating. The nut is soaking with WD-40, hopefully some heat and a large breaker bar will convice it to come off, otherwise I will need to track down an impact hammer. (07-29-07)
The pawl shaft spring, I guess it needed to be replaced. The new one is much stiffer than the original. (07-29-07)
The inside of the right crankcase cover. The second gear slip repair kit comes with a new gear change arm (upper right). Just remove the cotter pin, slide the old one out and put the new one in. The new one has a much more positive action engaging the gears. (07-29-07)
The clutch nut came off after soaking with WD-40 and a long bar. After removing the clutch, the shift shaft (circled in yellow) slides straight out. Then take off the c-clip on the main shaft and remove the main gear. (07-31-07)
