Book 4 (Versions 1, 2 & 4)
This was going to be a chapter between "Mika's Woe" and "Little Moons." Only two paragraphs, but I kept it because I might want to use some of the background I dreamed up later.
Michael Joseph Cardift
MICHAEL JOSEPH CARDIFT celebrated the New Year by picking up Julia Brennan, a still-pretty redheaded streetwalker, in Hartford, Connecticutt. Her body was found eight days later, along with that of another red-headed woman who had been missing for three months, though it took much longer to identify her. Another prostitute who wore a red-haired wig vanished from Providence a week after that, and, in February, a red-haired teenager named Mary Margaret Hanlon disappeared from a Boston suburb.
Cardift had done time for car theft, but now he was "legitimate"--he was a repo man. He picked up a little on the side as a car burglar.
