This section is for the might-have-beens in the American Dream series. Right now it is mostly about the earlier efforts to bring out a fourth book, and it illustrates how many times and how radically I've changed things. A lot of it was posted at my old site at Earthlink.
A few fans seemed to have liked some of the things in the older versions. While I don't intend to continue these "alternate" lines myself, anyone who wants to take any one of them up is free to go with it; this is fanfic, after all. Just give me credit for the things I thought up first.
The Hat Trick
This is the original version of a scene in "Hizzoner." I liked it a lot, but I decided it really didn't fit into the story as I wanted to tell it. It features Tux.
Fragments
Collected scenes I decided not to use.
| Alternative Story Arcs (Book 4) |
The original version of Book 4. As you can see, Walter Rostov began as an out-and-out villain. The reason why the President couldn't be President any more was that Chibi Moon fooled around with the Ginzuishou to try to somehow undo her mistake. She turned the President into a child. I never got around to writing any scenes for that, though.
I used "Clayborn" as the name of the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; in the latest version, "Claybourne" is the DC Mayor. One reason I keep these old versions around is that they often have characters I might be able to use again.
The first thing I thought of for this story was Chibi Moon taking the President out of the White House.
BackThis version makes Rostov into a villain in the grand mode, actually setting off a nuke in Washington DC! Back
This was another variation on the conspiracy theme. I started writing a scene where Moon Angel Alpha (Nancy) shows up to rescue Roxanne, but I've lost it. Back
I'm not sure where I was going with this version. I decided to abandon the wild conspiracy of Version 3 and go back to basics. It yielded the third Mika-centered chapter and the chapter with Luna, Diana, and Artemis, but I seem to have run out of steam trying to decide what to do next. Back
I don't have a clue what I had in mind here, if anything. I guess Back
