The late
Albert (Mim)
Tuckwell's collection
Dr. Hostetters Stomach Bitters. c1890s.

This particular amber coloured bottle was recovered from an 1890s era rubbish tip near Adelaide, South Australia. These quack cures had one thing in common, a high portion of alcohol in the preparation.

Hostetters contained no less than 25 percent alcohol, and later 37 percent.

A reasonable number of these have been recovered from South Australian tips, making these bottles obtainable.
