Dr. Hostetters Stomach Bitters. c1890s.
This particular amber coloured bottle was recovered from an 1890s era rubbish tip near Adelaide, South Australia. These quack cures had one thing in common, a high portion of alcohol in the preparation.
Hostetters contained no less than 25 percent alcohol, and later 37 percent.
A reasonable number of these have been recovered from South Australian tips, making these bottles obtainable. |
