The potter made an impression error - for it was meant to be
(J.O.) Ladd.
Joseph Onesimus Ladd was the founding father of a ginger beer and aerated water factory located in Rundle Street, Adelaide, and established in 1849.
Generations of the Ladd family would very successfully operate the business until selling out in 1957.
