| This picture shows the crankshaft position gear and the tachometer geartooth sensor. The gear has 35 teeth with one tooth missing for syncronization of the engine contoller. The tachometer circuitry finds the missing tooth and then counts the number of teeth that pass by in 16.666 miliseconds. This reading will be directly in hundreds of RPM. |
