Deed to DAVID CURNUTE for 200 Acres in Montgomery County Virginia 1793

Henry Lee Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom

these presents shall come greetings; Know ye, that by virtue of a Land

Office treasury Warrant Number eight thousand four hundred and twenty nine

issued the fourth day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty two,

there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto David Curnute a certain tract

or parcel of lan containing two hundred acres by Survey hearing date the

twentyninth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine,

lying and being in the County of Montgomery on the south side of _______

fork of Elk Creek and bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a white oak

a corner of William Ewings Survey and with the same North ten degrees West

forty poles to a poplar, North thirteen degrees East eighty six poles to two

white oaks then leaving the said line, East one hundred and thirty poles to

a Chesnut by a path, south seventy nine degrees, East seventy four poles to

a Chestnut in the gap of a ridge, South forty one degrees, East seventy

eight poles to two black oaks on a ridge, South thirty seven degrees, West

forty six poles to two chesnuts on a ridge, North eighty five degrees, West

seventy eight poles to three chesnuts on a ridge, South one hundred and

sixteen poles to a chesnut, South Seventy nine degrees, West twenty six

poles to a chesnut on the end of a ridge and north fifty two degrees, West

one hundred and seventy two poles to the ____. Beginning with the

appurtenances: To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with ts

appurtenances, to the said David Curnute and his heirs for ever. In Witness

wherof the said Henry Lee Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia,

hath hereunto set his hand and caused the _____ seal of the said

Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the Second day of January in the

year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and ninety three; and of the

Commonwealth the Seventeenth.
