Acheri

Corrupters and tempters and spreaders of disease, often mistaken for demons (DD, pp. ••-••).

- Court: Unseelie

- Birthrights:

- Frailties: Addiction: All acheri are prone to excessive behavior and must choose a 2-trait Addiction (as the Flaw) that grants no Character points and can never be bought off.

- Immunity: Acheri are immune to diseases both magical and mundane.

- Bans: Birthrights fail against those wearing red; May not initiate Social challenges against the "truly virtuous" (i.e., someone with a rating of 5 in a conscience-based Morality path or any True Faith)

- Weakness: Cold Iron

- Binding: Acheri love to corrupt mortals and cannot resist their own inclination to overindulgence. Even knowing the risks, these factors combine to make many acheri fall prey to their Binding: being bested by a mortal in a contest of vice. Such acheri become mortal themselves, but watch out: often the original mortals become acheri in their place.

- Regaining Mana: Mana Stealing, Ravaging, Seductive Ravaging.

- Preferred Disciplines: Chimerstry OR Dementation, Presence OR Serpentis, Obtenebration OR Thaumaturgy (Path of Corruption; Path of the Vine of Dionysus).

- Origin: While some acheri stayed on earth (corrupting mortals is their raison d'être and some found goblin slaves not sufficiently challenging), most acheri of Earthly Origin were once mortals who usurped the place of acheri by defeating them in a contest of vice. Earthly acheri tend to have Influence in fields that allow them to further their work of spreading disease and corruption (for instance, Church, Health, Street, Underworld).

- Appearance: Acheri of low Rank look like humans bearing the marks of terrible diseases and may be able to pass as same. Those of higher Rank are covered by their shadows (unless they send it out), making them black silhouettes with white or red eyes.
