            Because the Arabic language is more flexible in meanings and vowels than the English language there is more definition of an ayah in the ( ) parentheses.

 

 

Al-Fatihah (1)

The Opening

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Al-hamdu lillahi Rabb il-'alamin

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Ar-Rahman ir-Rahim.

Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Maliki yawmi-d-Din.

Master of the day of Judgment.

Iyya-ka na'budu wa iyya-ka nasta'in.

You alone we worship, You alone we ask for help.

Ihdina-sirat al-mustaqim

Show us the straight path.

Sirat al-ladhina an ' amta ' alai-him.

The path of those whom you have favored.

Ghair il-maghdubi ' alai-him wa la -d-dallin.

Not (the path) of those who earned your anger, Nor of those who go astray.

Ameen.

Amen.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Ikhlas (112)

Sincerity

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Qul huw - Allahu Ahad

Say: He is Allah, the one.

Allahu - a - Sammad.

Allah is Eternal.

Lam yalid wa lam youlad.

He does not give birth, nor did anyone give birth to him.

Wa lam yakul lahu Kufuwan ahad.

And there is no one equal to him.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Kawthar (108)

The Abundance

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Inna a taina ka - l - Kawthar.

To you (Muhammad) we have given the fountain of Kawthar.

Fa salli li Rabbi - ka -wa - nhar.

Therefore offer prayer to your lord and sacrifice.

Inna Shani a ka huwa -l - abtar.

Indeed, your enemy is he who will be cut off.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Nas (110)

The People

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Qul a ' udhu bi Rabbi n nas

Say I seek refuge in the Lord of  people.

Maliki - n - nas.

The King of  people.

Ilahi - n - nas

The God of  people

Min - sharri - l - waswasi l khannas

From the mischief of the whisperer (of evil thoughts), who disappears.

Alladhi yuwaswisu fi suduri n nas

Who whispers (evil thoughts) in the hearts of people.

Min al - jinnati wa n nas.

From jinns and from humans.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Quraish (106)

Quraish

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Li ilaf i Quraish - in

For the covenants of the Quraish.

Ilafi - him rihlata sh shita i was s saif.

Their covenants (which deal with) journeys by winter and summer.

Fa - lya budu Rabba hadh al bait

Let them worship the Lord of his House,

Alladhi at ama - hum min ju - in

who gave them food against hunger,

Wa amana - hum min khawf

and made them secure from fear.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Falaq (113)

The Daybreak

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Qul a 'udhu bi rabbil falaq

Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak;

Min sharri ma khalaq

from the evil of what he has created;

Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab

from the evil of the darkness when it is intense;

Wa min sharr in naffathati fi l uqad

from the evil of those who blow on knots;

Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad

from the evil of the jealous person when he shows jealousy.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Lahab (111)

The Flame

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Tabbat yada Abi Lahab in wa tabb

The hands of Abu Lahab will perish.

Ma aghna 'anhu malhu-hu wa ma kasab

His wealth and gains will not benefit him.

Sayasla naran dhata lahab

He will soon be burned in the fire which has blazing flames.

Wa-amra tuhu hammalat al hatab

And his wife, the carrier of firewood,

Fi jidi-ha hablun min masad

Will have around her neck a twisted rope of palm leaf fiber.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Nasr (110)

Victory

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Idha ja' a nasr Ullahi wa - fathu

When the help of Allah and victory comes,

Wa ra' ait an - nasa yadkhuluna

And you see the people entering

fi din - illahi afwaja

the religion of Allah in troops,

Fa - sabbih bi hamdi Rabbi - ka wa staghfir - hu

Then hymn the praise of your Lord and seek His forgiveness,

Inna - hu kana tawwaba

For he is oft - returning (In forgiveness).

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Kafirun (109)

The Disbelievers

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Qul ya - ayyuha l kafirun

Say: O disbelievers!

La a 'budu ma ta'budun

I worship not what you worship.

Wa la antum 'abiduna ma a'bud

Nor do you worship what I worship.

Wa la ana abidum ma abad-tum

And I shall worship not what you worship.

Wa la antum 'abiduna ma a'bud

Nor will you worship what I worship.

La kum dinu - kum wa li-ya - deen

For you is your religion and for me is my religion.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Má'ún (107)

The help

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

Ara' ait - alladhi yukadhibu bi - d -Deen

Did you see the one who denies Religion?

fa -dhalik - alladhi yadu ul yatim

That is the one who repels the orphan,

Wa la yahuddu 'ala ta ' ami - l- miskin

And does not urge the feeding of the needy.

fa wailul li-l-musallin

So, woe to the worshippers,

Alladhina hum 'an salati - him sahun

Who are forgetful of their Salah,

Alladhina hum yura'un

Who show off (In worship).

Wa yamna'un al-ma'un

Yet refuse small kindnesses (help).

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.

Al - Feel (105)

The Elaphant

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim.

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind.

'Alam tara kaifa fa' ala rabbu - ka bi as-hab il fil

Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the People of the Elephant?

'Alam yaj'al kaida - hum fi tadlil

Did He not make their evil plan fail?

Wa ' arsala ' alai-him tairan ababil

And He sent against them flights of birds,

Tarmi - him bi-hijaratin min sijjeel

Striking them with stones of baked clay.

Fa ja'ala-hum ka'asfim ma'kul

Then He made them like a crop (which is) chewed up.

Saduck allhu al hasime.

Said Allah most honest and wise.
