departure from apathy. 6-song demo.
Recorded April 19, 2003. Released April 20, 2003 (haha, yeah).
recorded april '03 with my minidisc recorder. i recorded everything separately and then mixed it all by lining all the tracks up together manually (holy shit, painstaking) on the computer. the vocals were all recorded the night of April 19th and nick had had his wisdom teeth removed just a week before. nick and me pretty much lost our voices recording this, even though DFA had a show the next night. haha. the point was to have the demo ready for the show (our third show ever, and first that wasn't in scarborough just for our friends and was with another band). i stayed up all night mixing this bastard and burned it on a whole bunch of cd-rs right up until we left for the show, and nick assembled most the packaging (which was/is pretty damn ugly) on the drive there, heh. we were pretty happy with how it came out given the rushed circumstances.
the entire demo is available for download on the DFA mp3 page at hxcmp3.com. however, get it now, because once the LP is done, it probably won't be availablefor download anymore.
