The guys from Newmarket arrived in Sudbury early. After a quick greeting, power was turned on and practice commenced. Taking full advantage of the open lanes Steve, Bob(Just Bob), and Ed ran some laps on each in preparation for the first race. After Gilles arrived and got some warm up laps in, the days racing was ready to start.

First up was Tyco NASCAR hardody. These cars were setup the same as they were for the Oct 28th, 2000 race with ski shoes, any rear rim/slip-on tire combo, and polymer traction magnets being the only significant changes over stock. Neil, the winner of October's meeting was again fast, this time in his McDonalds sponsored Taurus. Gilles, the newest racer, layed down some quick laps with a Taurus as well...proving he will be one to watch once he gets more track time with these cars. Steve and Ed showed improved driving with their Pontiac Grand Prix skinned racers, while Bob had trouble keeping his STP machine in the slot in some turns.

Lane One treated Neil well as he took 32 laps out of it. Lane Two gave Gilles a hard time coming out with only 21 laps when the power went down. Steve turned up the heat in Lane Three turning 34 laps, 5 more than the nearest threat. Lane Four would see Ed edge out Neil and Steve by just a couple laps with only 29. When the power in the fifth heat finally turned off Steve edged Neil out of top position by just 1 lap with Ed following in 3rd with 113. Bob and Gilles finished with 102 and 98 respectively. Steve's victory in Tyco NASCAR made up for the rough time he experienced on his home track in October, where ironically, Neil was the victor.

The track was again open for practice and all took full advantage of this time to set up their MagnaTractions and their SG+ Indy cars for the upcoming support race. In both cases, tire heights seemed to be causing the most trouble. The SG+ support race would be the last of the afternoon before breaking for dinner. The guys from Newmarket were quickly running consistant laps. This would be the only race the visitors would dominate. Neil struggled with deslots as did Gilles, possibly not nailing the right tire height or from using the new, weaker traction magnets. While Bob fought to keep his cars in the groove for the other classes, his SG+ was almost driving itself. His aggressive style however, did cause a couple offs...resulting in a much closer race than it could have been. When power went down Bob had taken 1st with 100 laps. Ed and Steve both finished with 99 laps, with Steve finishing mere track sections behind Ed for 3rd. Neil finished 4th with 88laps followed by Gilles with 82.

Racing resumed again after dinner. Practice was again turned on and racers took to the track to get in some more MagnaTraction time. Steve was the most aggressive in practice putting in some 200 laps before the race. A qualifying race similar to that of the Tyco NASCAR class was held. Drivers chose their start lanes and power came on.

Neil and Ed both commented on not being Magnatraction drivers, but made every attempt to prove otherwise. Neil pushed his BMW M1 to 19 laps in Lane One followed closely by both Ed and Bob with 18. Lane Two would have Ed and Bob finishing with 16 laps. Steve and Neil would share the top totals out of Lane Three, both finishing with 18. Lane Four treated 3 drivers well as Neil, Bob and Ed finished with a total of 18 laps. Gilles was consistant throughout the race and put in some good laps. with more race experience he will be near the top of the pack. When the last race of the night was finally finished, Neil would be victorious with 70 laps. Ed and Bob would be fighting for second with 69 laps, however Bob came out on top for 2nd by only a few track sections. Steve came in 4th with 61 laps followed by Gilles in 5th with a total of 50.
