Hello All,

I hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying the warm weather that is starting to come our way... Everything has continued to be busy, busy, busy here on my end. This month I traveled to Monroe, Ohio and had the wonderful honor of serving as Host and Emcee for the Miss Southern Lights Queen of Queen's pageant at the Old Street Saloon. Many Thanks to Josh the promoter and to Daray Lorez for all her help that evening in the dressing room. I had a great time and it was wonderful to work with my Miss Ohio Gay Pride Sister Alexis O'hara as she is the current reigning Miss All American Queen of Queen's. It was great to see all the other folks involved with the pageant and show as well...

Also this month I was invited to perform at the Miss Great Lakes EOY pageant at Axis on March 11, and congratulations to my Miss Ohio Gay Pride sister Kiarra Cartier Fontaine on winning the title of Miss Great Lakes EOY, and her recent win's of  Miss Great Lakes US of A, Miss Columbus Third Coast and Miss Toledo New World.... You go GIRL!!   It is Great to see our Gay Pride sister continued on and achieve great things!!! Best of Luck to you as you continue your pageant career. It was great to see Hurricane Summers and work with the LOVELY Erica Andrews Miss National EOY! and a very special Thank you to Nick Hatley for involving me in his regional preliminary pageant. Out state promoter Lita Mannon served as head judge for this pageant, ant it was great to have the Gay Pride system to be able to provide entertainment and judging services to another system.

Ok now onto this month's Passion's Point.

As we are nearing the second preliminary pageant for the Miss Ohio Gay Pride Pageantry System, I hope everyone is preparing themselves for success in pageantry by taking proper steps. We have talked about in December's article about brainstorming, and preparing your package. Now it is time to put those plans into motion. Hopefully you have your ideas and you are in the stages of putting them together. A helpful hint, is to make lists to help getting ready for your preliminary and state pageant packages. Don't forget when you are making lists to be sure to include the materials needed, prices of the materials, and/or things that you may need to buy or use as you are putting the pieces together of your package.  A materials list is a great start, now that you have your ideas all planned out. If you don't have ideas planned out.... START NOW!!!

Remember every category needs to be laid out and prepared for top to bottom. We will be posting the category descriptions on the website very soon as a helpful tool for you to refer back to as well as the articles to help you continuously set yourselves up for success. As you are preparing your package remember that you are responisble for your own success and to prepare your package accordingly. Setting up rehearsal times, time with your dresser to go over your package and what is expected of him or her. Also set up fittings with your dress makers, costume makers as well as communicate with your prop designer. Set realistic goals and dead lines for all of them. Make sure that you inform them of when you want it by, not necessarily need it by. I only say this because; if you tell a designer or maker that you need to have something by the date of a pageant they may not have it ready for you on that date.  It is much better to give someone a deadline of 2, 3,. or even 4 weeks before the pageant. There is nothing worse than getting ready to do a pageant and on that day you have nothing ready. Prepration is the key and consistency is the game!! Good LUCK!! Also don't forget to check out the preliminary pageants page where the upcoming pageants are listed. Don't forget May 13, 2007 will be Miss Columbus Gay 2007 Pageant, with Tracie Lords, Miss Columbus Gay Pride 2006.
