| Royalty's Report Messages from the Miss Ohio Gay Pride's Royalty This Month Krystal Stone, Miss Ohio Gay Pride 1999 Well Contestants, this month I have been asked to write a brief paragraph to help with the hard category of competition which is interview. Interview which is a very hard category for most because we really don't know what to expect, most interviews are for the most part the same. Hopefully I can give you some great insight and tips on a successful interview. The best tip that I really give anyone is practice, practice, and practice some more. Practice makes perfect. Get a group of friends together and have them ask you a series of questions for about 10 minutes at a time. This will help you to think quickly on your feet. Also remember to look your best when you walk into an interview, always dress to impress. No wrinkled clothes, clothes that have a nice fit, and that match well. Also please keep in mind that good hygiene, always smile, and keep good eye contact with the judges sitting in front of you. Let the judges ask you the questions, and don't give more than you need to give at an interview. You don't want to have your answer's long and boring. Keeping this in mind please do not attempt to take over the interview, allow the judges to ask the questions. Have a positive attitude when you enter the room and be polite. Make sure to be yourself, and please do not put on a "fake" attitude, it will show. Show geunine desire and energy that you want to be at the interview, and that you want the position or title. Judges can tell if you are there to win or if you are there "because you have to be." Questions that are often asked. Well this is about Ohio Gay Pride so the questions will pertain to just that and the system for the most part. An asked question may be "about being proud to be gay, how can you help the pride in your community, and with friends?" or maybe... "How can you promote the system or keep it successful?" An ideal candidate will show a geunine intrest in the system and your goald for the system and for yourself. Also take heed to critique's from your last pageant and go over your notes or comments and fix your last problems, if you are a returing contestant. Show the judges you have worked on them to improve yourself. Hopefully this will help all of you in the next interview that you may have. Good Luck!! Krystal Stone Miss Ohio Gay Pride 1999 |
