What is a Registered Nutritional Practitioner [RNCP]?
An RNCP is a qualified practitioner who provides to individuals or groups guidance pertaining to the building and maintenance of nutritional well being.
The objective of health counseling is to educate the individual to take charge of their health; to perceive their health as a consequence of many factors; that health is a relationship between body, mind and spirit, with each person having the potential to reach their optimal level of health when they optimize their own natural healing potential by introducing new principals of living, combined with natural supplements. Changing old habits is difficult, and many do not do so till forced to by an illness. But it is much better to make changes before you have serious problems.
Health counseling can help
you identify the areas of your life that are robbing you of your vitality.
Such counsel may include:
Recommending food selection and preparation.
Recommending food supplements, [vitamins, minerals, enzymes, glandular concentrations, proteins, essential fatty acids].
Educating clients about benefits of a wound nutritional program to encourage the body to heal itself.
Evaluation of the client's food intake, usually over a given week. Particular attention is paid to the proportion of protein, fat, starches, sugars and fiber consumed.
Designing a program specifically for each client. Taking into consideration, such factors as, height, age, sex, level of exercise, or physical activity, dietary goals, food preferences, sensitivities to specific foods, dietary habits, religious beliefs, and nutritional deficiencies.
The Main Focus of Nutritional Counseling is Wellness and Building Health
Ultimately the cells in our bodies are built from raw materials we eat. The more suitable our food choices are to specific requirements, the better cell structure we can build.
Since every person is biologically unique, individual nutritional imbalances and weaknesses must be assessed.
Environmental pollution, metal toxicity, parasites and allergies are among other factors that must be considered in constructing a nutritional program.
An RNCP will introduce new dietary habits, incorporating the latest nutritional breakthroughs, but it may be difficult to achieve optimal health through food alone. In such cases, RNCP's are trained to design a personalized dietary supplement program.
