| In 1929 the Grand Secretary wrote a letter announcing that new Rituals were available for one dollar twenty-five cents ($1.25) with a trade-in of fifty cents ($.50) for each old Ritual turned into Grand Chapter. That�s an overall forty percent (40%) discount. |
| 1930 saw our first Associate Patron installed, Brother Fred Schott. Sister Jeffries was appointed Grand Representative of West Virginia. The Harmony Club was still busy and presented the Chapter with the stand and container to house our Charter; and forty dollars ($40.00) worth of utensils for the kitchen. |
| 1931 saw Sister Lela Nash installed as Worthy Matron. Kirkwood Chapter boasted three hundred (300) members AND seven hundred dollars ($700.00) in our treasury! |
| Sister Elizabeth Thursby was Worthy Matron in 1932, and was congratulated for her novel way of dressing a carton of cigarettes to look like a flapper for the shut-in Brothers. Sister Elizabeth was also appointed as Grand Representative of Tennessee. |
| Tragedy struck Fenton Chapter in 1933 when their Temple burned; however as a result, our friendship with them was forged and became a golden chain - made stronger with each passing year. Kirkwood hosted a profitable masquerade party. Also, instead of honoring birthdays we honored those who were initiated each month. |
| After the 1934 Installation, all were invited to dine and dance at the Pierce Pennant Restaurant at a cost of fifty cents ($.50) per person. The Harmony Club gave a new Sheaf of Wheat to the Chapter and Sister Marie Lemcke gave new lights for the Star Point stations. |
| A reception buffet and dance at the Osage Country Club followed the 1935 Installation - still at a cost of fifty cents ($.50) per person. On March 18th of this year, Kirkwood Chapter made headlines when Sister Maggie Lynn was shot in the arm when a young man tried to hold her up. |
| Westborough Country Club was the setting for a buffet and dance after the 1936 Installation. Five new Star Point Chairs were given to the Chapter by the Harmony Club. |
| In 1937 Kirkwood Chapter pledge the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) to furnish a room at the Masonic Home and one hundred dollars ($100.00) for a new rug for the Lodge room. |
